State’s Top Legal Group names New Director of Development

The South Carolina Association for Justice, the state ’s leading voice for plaintiff attorneys, has a new Director of Development. Courtney Mitchum Barts joined the group to manage their fundraising and membership recruitment efforts. With over 1,300 members, Courtney will coordinate multiple development campaigns in regions across South Carolina. A native of Berkeley County, Courtney graduated with a joint degree in Marketing and Management from the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business. She worked for the South Carolina House of Representatives for several years, with a majority of that time spent with the Ethics Committee. Most recently, Courtney led the Republican House Caucus fundraising efforts, specializing in messaging, events and giving programs. “We are excited to welcome Courtney to our team. She has the right background of policy and fundraising, making her an ideal fit for our organization.
