Students charged with disturbing School

Several middle and high schools in Oconee County spent a large portion of Wednesday dealing with threats and rumors of threats of school violence. The School District of Oconee County (SDOC) reports that while none of the threats were deemed creditable, two high school students were charged with disturbing school, while several other high school students were suspended for violating the district’s behavior code, reports Oconee County Schools Assistant Superintendent of Operations Steve Hanvey. School and law enforcement officials will continue to vigilantly investigate threats of violence and will prosecute individuals guilty of making or spreading threats within the school community.
