Summer Meal Pickup Change

A change has been made to the Oconee School District’s summer meal distribution. Weekly meals can now be collected at James Brown Elementary School on Coffee Road in Walhalla. Parents are advised to drive to the rear parking area, specifically the bus rider loop, for pickup. The schedule remains the same, with pickup times from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

According to the School District of Oconee County, the district continues to offer two summer meal programs for children aged 18 and under, or up to 21 with disabilities, until July 26 (excluding July 1-5). The daily meal program serves lunches at the Westminster Recreation Department from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

In the Walhalla area, weekly meals can now be retrieved at James M Brown Elementary. Parents should access the back parking area (bus rider loop) for pickup between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Additionally, weekly meal pickups are still available at Shaver Complex (11:30 am – 12:30 pm) and Salem Library (11:30 am – 12:00 pm). Pre-ordering is advisable for weekly pickups. Please note that students cannot participate in both programs, and parents are limited to picking up one meal package per student each week from one site.
