Superintendent congratulates Warriors on State Championship

The West-Oak High School Warriors Wrestling Team won back to back AAA State Championships on Saturday. The Wrestling Warriors capped a perfect season, 27-0, by beating the Swansea Tigers 58-18 at Airport High School for the state title. Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland congratulates the team, coaches and parents on winning the title. “We are very excited about West-Oak’s Wrestling Team. It speaks a lot about them that they have won back to back state championships and three of the last four. Just some great young men on that team who competed really hard on Saturday. Really they weren’t tested throughout the playoffs so they are the far superior team in AAA this year and we are very proud of them.” This is the fifth State Wrestling Title won by West-Oak High School in its history.
