Suspect arrested in Utica Mill Hill Double Homicide Case

Tuesday evening, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca teenager in the shooting deaths of two men on the Utica Mill Hill Monday morning. Two arrest warrants for murder were obtained against 18-year-old Steven Lee Reynolds of 3 Padgett Street in Seneca in regards to the deaths of 54-year-old Timothy Wayne Caldwell and 29-year-old David Thomas Tranah, whose bodies were discovered at 14 Padgett Street. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the deaths as a double homicide. Reynolds also has three outstanding arrest warrants obtained by Narcotics Agents of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Two of those arrest warrants are for distribution of methamphetamine and the other is for one count of distribution of heroin. As the investigation continued into the double homicide, investigators received information that Reynolds was possibly located at an address on Coffee Road near Stribling Shoals Road. Investigators and deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division and the Special Operations Division responded to the Coffee Road address and placed Reynolds into custody without incident around 7:02pm Tuesday evening. Reynolds was transported soon thereafter to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
