Suspect in Toccoa, GA Shooting Identified by Police

Shortly before 4 PM on July 17, Toccoa Chief of Police Jimmy Mize announced that Veon Nicely, 23, of Toccoa, has been identified as the second individual sought in connection with Tuesday’s gunfire at Regency on W. Currahee Street.

Felony warrants for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime have been issued for Nicely, who is considered armed and dangerous. Residents are advised not to approach him but to call 911 immediately if they know his location or come into contact with him.

On July 16, a shooting near Regency Inn prompted an urgent alert from the Toccoa Police Department CID. One suspect is in custody but uncooperative, and the investigation is ongoing.
