OCPL announces Independence Day closure

All branches of the Oconee County Public Library will be closed on Monday, July 4, for Independence Day. The virtual branch, oconeelibrary.org, will be available, and book returns will be open at each location. All locations return to their regular hours on Tuesday, July 5. Also of note, the Summer Food Program will NOT serve meals the week of July 4-8.

Fair Play Man Charged with Meth Distribution

According to jail records, this past Thursday the South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested 64 year-old Robert John Devine of Fair Play and charged him with DUI, Driving Under Suspension and his third or subsequent offense for Manufacturing or Distributing Methamphetamine. He remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center with a total bond amount set at more than $50,000.
