A narcotics compliant at a Seneca area motel over the weekend led to the arrests of two Seneca man on multiple narcotics charges, including charges of Drug Trafficking.   61 year old James Richard Byerly and 56 year old Timothy James Hird, both of Tamarack Drive, were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 9:47am and 12:05pm Saturday respectively. A large brush fire started in Seneca near the Dollar General on West North First Street around 6:00pm this evening. It’s believed the fire started in a homeless camp, according to initial reports. No word of any injuries.

After hearing what some described as an explosion, one person was flown by air ambulance to the burn center at Augusta. Reports indicate that at least three vehicles caught fire near Borg Warner in Seneca this afternoon. Seneca Fire and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the incident.
