TCTC to graduate 300 on Wednesday

Approximately 300 students will receive degrees, diplomas and certificates during Tri-County Technical College’s (TCTC) summer commencement on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Glenn Hellenga, director of Career Services at TCTC, says it is an exciting time at the college. “TCTC President Dr. Ronnie Booth is our graduation speaker. As anybody recalls their own graduations, lot of excitement, lot of enthusiasm, lot of family and just a great, exciting, fun time.” The 6pm ceremony takes place in the Anderson Civic Center. In addition to families and guests of the graduates, alumni and other friends of the college are invited to attend the ceremony. As one semester ends at the college another is ready to begin, adds Hellenga. “This is my 43 fall here and the excitement is still evident and the staff and faculty here get a whole new crop of freshman in, they get them ready to go and start them on the first step of a new journey toward what we think will be a better life for them. To be a part of that is exciting for every one of us, we are here to make a difference in folks’ lives and that is what we try to do, day in and day out.” The application deadline for fall semester classes at TCTC is Aug. 9 and the first day of class is Aug. 17.
