Think Oconee celebrating One Year with Prize Giveaways

The initiative to get people to shop locally is celebrating its one year anniversary and it is giving the community a chance to win prizes. Daja Dial, Marketing and Communications Manager for the Oconee Economic Alliance tells more about Think Oconee. “Think Oconee is an incredible campaign and it is just about getting people to think local, buy local, shop local, and put your money back into the county that is going to give back to you. What we want to do through this campaign is again to get these people thinking when you are doing your Christmas shopping this holiday season come down to downtown Walhalla, downtown Seneca, or any of our other cities and towns around and put your money into these local owned businesses because boy what a special opportunity it is to really see the face that owns that business and know that it is impacting their lives as well. So, that is what we want to try to do through Think Oconee.” Dial tells how to enter the contest to win prizes this month. “We are doing Think Oconee Thursday this month and what that is a campaign to celebrate our birthday. Think Oconee turned 1-year-old this year in November and so throughout this entire month of November we are going to giving away local prizes to local places around Oconee County to say thank you. So, how you do that is you post anywhere that you see the Think Oconee decal, take a picture of it and post it on Instagram or Facebook, use the hashtags #ThinkOconee and #ThinkOconeeThursday and on Friday morning right here on 94.1 The Lake they will announce the winner. This week our prize for whoever the winner is is a $25 gift card to 28 West in Walhalla.” Learn more about Think Oconee Thursdays by visiting the Facebook page of the Oconee Economic Alliance or Destination Oconee.
