Time running out to be a part of History

Time is running out to be a part of history in Oconee County. 2018 marks the sesquicentennial, 150th anniversary, of Oconee County and the Oconee County Public Library (OCPL) is marking the occasion with a bookmark contest, explains OCPL Director Blair Hinson. “You can pick up the template at any of the branches. We’ve got information about it online, but the templates are at the branches and all the contest rules and that kind of stuff. We are doing it by age groups. This is celebrating Oconee County and this is your chance, basically, for your artwork to be on the bookmarks that we hand out to everybody for the next year or two, until we do it again.” The contest is open to all Oconee County residents. The theme is “Images of Oconee.” All entries must be turned in to any OCPL branch or participating school libraries by Friday, Feb. 2.
