Today is Earth Day

This is the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day, a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation of our planet’s natural environment. Eric Pica is the president of Friends of the Earth. “Earth Day is one of those days where people around the world celebrate the environment and the process of protecting the environment.  Hopefully they give thought to what their ecological footprint is.” Pica is asking people to pause in reflection today.  “I’m hoping that on this 43rd anniversary of Earth Day that the general populous takes a moment to pause and think about what is happening around our planet.” Hopefully, that moment of pause and reflection will inspire changes, concludes Pica.  “This is the one day to sit back and say OK we are seeing these terrible impacts occurring from our lifestyles and that it is time to make changes.” Learn more about Earth Day this evening at the Westminster Library as Leah Price hosts another Crafting with Leah.  At 6:30pm this evening, Leah will turn trash into treasure through an art project.  Call the Westminster Library at (864) 647-3215 to reserve your seat for this fun, educational event.
