Townville Elementary Shooter should be tried as Adult

On Wednesday, 10th Circuit Solicitor David Wagner filed an order in the Anderson County Clerk of Court’s Office, stating that the teen suspect in the Townville Elementary School shooting in 2016 should be tried as an adult. On Feb. 12, Family Court Judge Edgar Long heard arguments that Jesse Osborne should be tried as an adult in General Sessions Court. He is accused of killing a student in the shooting, as well as injuring another student and a teacher. Osborne is also accused of killing his father. Judge Long ruled that Osborne face charges in General Sessions Court as an adult. A trial date has yet to be announced.
