Tractor Rollover kills Westminster Man

The Oconee County 911 system was activated at 10:57pm Saturday night with the report of a person found crushed beneath a tractor.  The man was discovered dead by family members who went searching for him when he was not found at home.   This incident occurred on property near the decedent’s home on Rufus Land Road in Westminster and is believed to have occurred between 7 and 8:30pm Saturday evening.  Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis identified the decedent as 43-year-old Terry Ray Land.  He was driving the tractor back toward his residence when he went down a grade with the tractor rolling over onto its top.  The tractor did not have a rollover protection bar.  No autopsy will be ordered and Land died as a result of traumatic asphyxiation.
