Tri-County Technical College And Partners Meet To Announce Grant For Power Lineman Training Program

(Seneca, SC)———————Tri-County Technical College announced in a press release yesterday that the school and community partner agencies will gather this morning at the Pendleton campus for a meeting to announce details concerning a $200,000 grant from Duke Energy to develop and implement a Power Lineman Training program. 

The program curriculum includes power lineman training, in addition to classes in the National Center for Construction Education and Research Heavy Equipment and Commercial Driver’s License, which is an optional component. 

Workforce scholarships will be available through the College’s Corporate and Community Education Division and classes are tentatively scheduled to begin in April. 

The grant will cover startup costs of the program, including equipment and faculty.u

Attending the meeting, according to the release, will be community partners Duke Energy, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, Easley Combined Utilities, Pike Electric, Seneca Light and Water and Sumter Utility.
