Tri-County Technical College Announces Grant For Two Quickjobs Programs

(Seneca, SC)—-Tri-County Technical College has announced that due to a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission and donations from community partners, the school is now able to offer two QuickJobs programs, one in heavy equipment operator training and the other in existing truck driving, or CDL, training.

The grant in the amount of $235,705 dollars is a matching grant.  The programs are being offered to meet needs in critical workforce areas in road construction, commercial construction, mining and transportation for companies in Anderson, Pickens and Oconee Counties.

Workforce scholarships, funded by the state of South Carolina, can aid persons who are unable to afford the cost of training.  Other funding sources include the College’s capital expense funds and privately-donated funds by local companies.

Heavy equipment classes start on August 26th.  Evening CDL classes start August 12th with day classes starting on August 14th and September 25th.  For more information, contact Tri-County Technical College at 864-646-1707 or go online to www.tctc.edu/learn.
