Two Arrested in Oconee County Attempted Murder Case

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Daniel Jordan Perry of Seneca and detained a 14-year-old from Walhalla in connection with a Thursday morning shooting. Perry is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime and Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle while Occupied. The juvenile faces the same charges and has been transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
Deputies responded to Redland Ranch Road around 3:23 a.m., where two adult male victims reported being shot at while driving on Blue Ridge Boulevard near the Poplar Springs Road overpass.
The investigation revealed a prior verbal altercation in Walhalla, leading to a pursuit in which Perry and the juvenile allegedly fired shots from a Ford Focus into the victims’ vehicle before fleeing toward Seneca. Both suspects were later taken into custody on Kermit Street near Walhalla. The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
