Two Arrested in Oconee County Traffic Stop on Drug and Theft Charges
A 42-year-old Westminster man, Lloyd Scott Wensel of West-Oak Highway, remains in jail pending a bond hearing after being arrested during a traffic stop around 11:37 p.m. on Tuesday on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and driving under suspension, while his passenger, 20-year-old Jeda Marie Ruth Woodard of the same address, was charged with four counts of breach of trust with fraudulent intent related to allegedly stealing approximately $399.28 in merchandise and $40 in cash from the Stop-A-Minit on Sandifer Boulevard near Seneca; deputies were alerted by dispatch that Wensel’s license was suspended and Woodard had four outstanding warrants, leading to their arrest, with further investigation uncovering about 14.27 grams of methamphetamine belonging to Wensel. According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Woodard was released from jail Wednesday morning on a personal recognizance bond, and the investigation remains ongoing.
