Two SCDOT Projects honored in Transportation Competition

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) won two honors in a Southeast regional transportation award competition. SCDOT was awarded two out of eight winning projects in the 11th annual America’s Transportation Awards, which recognizes transportation projects in three categories: Quality of Life and Community Development, Best Use of Technology and Innovation, and Operations Excellence. The two winning SCDOT projects are the SCDOT’s Hurricane Irma Response on Edisto Island in the Operations Excellence, Small Category) and the SCDOT’s York Street Bridge Replacement in the Best Use of Technology and Innovation, Small Category. The America’s Transportation Awards competition is sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, Socrata, AAA, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
