United States Attorney Announces Two Piedmont Residents Indicted In Federal Drug Investigation

(Seneca, SC)———————–United States Attorney Sherri Lydon has announced two Piedmont residents are among eleven individuals that have been charged in a multi-count federal indictment for their roles in a wide ranging conspiracy to import and possess with intent to distribute heroin, cocaine, fentanyl and other related offenses. On February 19th of this year, a federal grand jury returned a twenty-two count sealed indictment alleging the defendants conspired to import narcotics from Mexico and distribute them throughout the upstate of South Carolina, North Carolina and elsewhere. One defendant from Piedmont, Detric Lee McGowan, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, a fine, plus a term of supervised released. Another defendant from Piedmont, 35 year old Lauren Brooke Poore, faces a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison, a fine, plus a term of supervised release.
