Upcountry Fiber to Discontinue Traditional TV Service for New Customers Starting November 1
Starting November 1, Upcountry Fiber will no longer offer traditional TV service to new customers, though existing customers will experience no immediate changes to their current service.
The company’s long-term plan is to eventually phase out traditional TV entirely, a decision driven by rising programming costs from content companies and national network fees that make affordable service increasingly difficult, changing viewing habits as most consumers now prefer the flexibility and lower cost of online streaming, and a strategic focus on investing in advanced broadband infrastructure to enable streaming and other modern services—ensuring every customer has the tools and resources to enjoy preferred content through the latest technology, with fast, reliable internet as the most impactful way to support how people connect, learn, and entertain themselves today.
When the full transition takes place, Upcountry Fiber will communicate directly with customers and communities to provide ample notice and comprehensive support.
