Update on Hartwell Village

One store is now open and another soon to be open in Hartwell Village. Five Below opened May 4, and Marshalls will open May 10, in the shopping center at the intersection of Highway 123 and Highway 93 in Oconee County. Oconee Economic Alliance Executive Director Richard Blackwell gives an update on the progress being made at Hartwell Village between Seneca and Clemson. “We’re excited about that and you are going to continue to see these stores opening up and taking shape, so to speak, bringing in those jobs that we have talked about now for nearly two years we have been talking about Hartwell Village and now here it is opening up. Every store should be open in the later part of this summer, so a lot of great things are coming online there. I think everyone knows the news of Five Guys Burgers and Fries is coming on. So, we look forward to hearing more announcements around what restaurants are going to come in because the retail is pretty much there. Yes, there are some smaller shops that are going to be taken up here in the next few months, but I think everybody is anticipating including myself, I’m interested to hear what restaurants are going to come in. There is still about, I think, five or six out-parcels. I’m like most, I hope a good restaurant comes on board because we need to continue to diversify our economy, diverse our eating choices and getting new retail in here.” So far, the announced businesses for Hartwell Village are Five Below, Marshalls, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Kay Jewelers, Lee Spa, Lakeside Lodge of Clemson, tru by Hilton, Michaels, Rack Room Shoes, Ulta, petco and ALDI.
