Update on Repairs at Seneca City Hall

Repairs to a leaking conduit between Seneca City Hall and the Seneca Police Department discovered in late October are progressing, according to Mayor Dan Alexander. “We had to do that because we had a major leak in the main floor level of the building. It is looking good. They have put up some brick posts there. It’s going to have caps on top of them. They have put up some flood lights that sort of shine up on front of the building, which actually show a lot of the architecture of that building.” In addition to that, concrete has been poured and weatherproofed. “That is coming together and by the first of the year that will be completed. I know there are some plans for some iron fencing and benches. Then add some planters toward the spring of the year.” With repairs coming to an end, the building is beginning to shine again, concludes Mayor Alexander. “I really like the lights on the building because it shines up and if you look at the building it has several A frame type roof lines. It shows the front of the building and it definitely helps set that building off.” In November, the Seneca City Council approved up to $50,000 be used on the repairs. The good news is that the building is no longer leaking and the downstairs offices of both buildings have been cleaned, re-sheetrocked and painted.
