Update on search for New Seneca City Administrator

Over 20 people have applied to be the next Seneca City Administrator. On June 30, Greg Dietterick will retire after 20 years as Seneca City Administrator. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander is optimistic about those applying to replace him. “We have received 20 plus applications. We will start looking at those next week and start setting up interviews with people to see who might be a good candidate out of that. Hopefully out of those that we have gotten we’ll have a good selection.” It will be very hard to replace Dietterick, continues Mayor Alexander. “That is a big position to fill. It is very important that person, to me, some of the qualities that they need: they need to be able to work with people, they need to be able to look at things beyond today, look at the future and like Greg would always say leave this place better when you leave than when you came, and also they need to be able to work with council to lead us in a direction to make Seneca a better place.” The mayor is excited that Dietterick will be retiring to spend time with family. “I’m excited for Greg, I know he is looking forward to retiring and being able to do things with his family. So, again we thank him for his service and wish him the best.” Dietterick will remain on the job to assist in the transition to his replacement.
