Upstate gets another soaking

The Upstate of South Carolina experienced another summer soaking last night courtesy of a lightning storm that arrived shortly before 8:30pm. The area remained under a flood warning until 12:30 this morning. The rain created flooding conditions on parts of Shiloh and Davis Creek roads near Seneca. Crews were called to deal with downed trees on Shiloh Road.  In PickensCounty, five people were rescued after downpours caused flash flooding.  According to PickensCounty emergency officials, three separate incidents were reported around 11pm.  The rescues happened near the Pickens County Flea Market on Highway 183 near Pickens and on Browning Road and Silver Creek Road in Central.  No injuries were reported in any of the rescues. The National Weather Service said between 4 to 6 inches of rain fell across the region last night.
