Upstate under High Wind Warning

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from 6pm Thursday, March 1, to noon on Saturday, March 3. The areas affected in the Upstate are Oconee, Pickens and Greenville counties as well as the mountains and foothills of North Carolina and extreme northeast Georgia. Strong to damaging winds are forecast beginning Thursday night and continuing into Saturday morning. These strong winds could blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Numerous power outages are expected across the higher elevations. Minor structural damage will be possible. Driving conditions will be dangerous for high-profile vehicles.
