Upstate Unemployment Rates on the rise

For the fourth consecutive month, South Carolina’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 8.3% in November from the October estimate of 8.6%.  The unemployment rate has fallen 1.5 percentage points since November of last year. In the tri-county area of Upstate South Carolina unemployment increased.  Oconee County posted 8.6% in November, which is an increase from 8.4% in October.  Similarly, Pickens County’s jobless figure rose from 7.3% in October to 7.5% in November and Anderson County’s unemployment rate increased from 7.9% in October to 8% in November.  Nationally, the unemployment rate fell from 7.9% in October to 7.7% in November.
