Urgent Help Needed: Four Dogs at Risk of Euthanasia
Update!! Shelter Overcrowding leads to urgent pleas for adopters…
OHS had great response and three out of the 4 are safe!!
Bubba, a one-year-old Cattle Dog mix, still needs our help. He is a sturdy, athletic type who is up for any adventure…as long as it’s wit people. Bubba can be a “”Velcro dog” wanting to always engage with his person. He would make a great hiking buddy….walks super well on leash and even enjoys wadding in the kiddie pool.
Bubba has to find a home before Monday, Aug 5, at 4 pm. People can learn more about Bubba at oconeehumane.org.

The Oconee Humane Society urgently needs help spreading the word about four dogs that have reached critical status. Despite the “no-kill” status of the Oconee County Animal Shelter, which prevents the euthanasia of animals due to time or space constraints, the shelter is overwhelmed with more intakes than adoptions. The facility is at full capacity with a backlog of pets awaiting surrender.
These four dogs have until Monday at 4 p.m. to find either permanent homes or temporary foster care.
Interested individuals can visit oconeehumane.org for more details and to see how they might assist. For those unable to adopt or foster, sharing the information with others is greatly appreciated.
Adoption or fostering of any pet will help alleviate the overcrowding, and spaying/neutering can help combat pet overpopulation; Oconee Humane Society offers financial assistance for this service.
