Vaping and Smoking Only Permitted in Designated Areas at City Events, Enforceable by Fine

The Seneca City Council has banned smoking and vaping products within the designated areas of Jazz on the Alley, effective immediately following a unanimous vote after the second reading of the ordinance at Tuesday night’s council meeting. Violators will face a civil penalty of $10 to $25. The ordinance, which was driven by complaints from residents and businesses, aims to address concerns about smoke impacting the atmosphere and operations of nearby establishments. City officials plan to enforce similar restrictions at other city-sponsored events and will announce the new rule at the next Jazz on the Alley event.
