Tamassee DAR School Benefit

On February 28, The Tamassee DAR School will host its second annual Bluegrass and BBQ event to raise money for their Children’s Fund.  The Tamassee Dar School is a historic organization that has helped many families throughout its existence and continues to do so through its programs to help stabilize the lives of children in unfortunate situations.  Also on a conservation front, Tamassee DAR School is a steward of the natural resources in its program, managing hundreds of acres of forestland, all of which is enrolled in the American Tree Farm system.  They have won two awards for their tree farming practices and this open space helps keep northern Oconee County a carbon offset area, as well as the benefit of the open space and clean water aspect.  The concert will be held in the 1940 circa Talmadge auditorium.  The bands performing are returning from last year’s successful show.  Local band Conservation Theory will open for nationally known act Karl Shiflett and His Big Country Show.  Concert tickets are $15 and BBQ tickets are $10.
