Westminster 10U Angels finish Second in State

After five days of playing the best in the state of South Carolina, the Westminster team finished second in the ten and under Angels Division. Westminster Coach Peanut Sosby said finishing second in the state is not bad. “Not bad at all. I’m proud of them, they battled for four innings and made a couple of crucial mistakes, but that is OK, they are ten-year-old girls. But, I’m proud to be number two in the state.” The Westminster team lost in the 2015 Dixie Girls State Tournament Championship Game Wednesday night to Latta. “It’s been a lot hard work, we’ve been here two years in a row and this makes the third year and we finally won it. So, I can’t thank these kids enough they put in all the hard work. I’m just blown away.” Latta, now the South Carolina 10 and under girls Coach Jake Hyatt said his team will be hard to beat in the World Series later this month in Louisiana. “I think we are going to be hard to beat. We have deep pitching and good bats. We can play small ball and we are a pretty well rounded team, so it is going to take a good team to beat us.” Coach Hyatt complemented the City of Seneca for hosting the tournament. “This tournament was run first-class.” In the eight and under Darlings Division the team from Dillon captured the state title and advances to the World Series.
