Volunteer to Impact Oconee

A call is going out to volunteers who would like to Impact Oconee.  Every year, the class of Leadership Oconee selects a service project to better the Golden Corner.  This year’s project is called Impact Oconee, explains Grant Nicholson with Sun Trust Bank and a member of the 2013 Leadership Oconee class.  “Impact Oconee was the brainchild of our leadership class this year.  It is a day of community action.  It is going to be April 13.  We highly encourage everybody to go our website and see what we are all about at Leadership Oconee.  It tells you a little about Leadership Oconee, tells you about the day of action and what we doing that day.  It highlights each of the individual projects we are going to do on that day.” Impact Oconee is meant to bring people together to give back.  Several projects are planned for the countywide day of community service.  Nicholson encourages those interested in giving back to sign up by visiting www.impactoconeesc.org. “The website also offers a place for anybody to go and sign up to participate.  We will get kicked off at 7:45am with a breakfast at Seneca Middle School.  We have a discussion during breakfast and then we hope to depart for the individual projects by about 8:30 or 8:45am.” The community service projects on April 13 will last until approximately 12:30pm.
