Vote for Walhalla as the South’s Top Adventure Town

The City of Walhalla has been selected by Blue Ridge Outdoors to be a contender in their annual Top Adventure Town contest, tells Ken Sloan, President and CEO of Visit Oconee SC. “This is pretty cool, Blue Ridge Outdoors does this and this is their eighth consecutive year to do it. They do it in three different segments; Small Adventure Towns, Medium Adventure Towns and Large Adventure Towns. We are in contention in the Small and right now we are competing with Clayton, Georgia and they are kind of in the lead and we are running right behind them. All you have to do is vote and we can win this thing. We just need the locals to vote. Walhalla is an incredible Adventure Town, especially with the new Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park and with all the waterfalls, the Chattooga River and multiple lakes. How can you have a better Adventure Town than Walhalla, South Carolina.” It’s very easy to vote in the contest, adds Sloan. “Just get onto www.contest.blueridgeoutdoors.com and select Walhalla from the Small Adventure Towns list. They can also email me at [email protected] and I will send a link to them, if that would be easier. You can vote multiple times too, it is not a single vote and you can vote once from each device each day. So, we just need to get some more people involved, just put it on your daily calendar, it takes about five seconds to get on and push vote and you are done. Of course, the winner of this gets a tremendous amount of PR coverage in the Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine, so it would be a huge boost to Walhalla if we could get our community around this and vote.” The City of Walhalla has a population of 4,300 people, so everyone in Oconee County is encouraged to help the city win the contest. The last day to vote is Aug. 6.
