Voting Hotline established to report Problems at the Polls

Election officials in South Carolina strive to make voting today as easy and painless a process as possible. But, occasionally problems arise, such as when one’s voting certificate is challenged. For South Carolina voters who experience problems at the polls today, there is a non-partisan, toll-free hotline to call. During polling hours, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law can assist voters with issues, problems, or questions that arise. Calls will be answered by lawyers and trained volunteers. That number is 866-OUR-VOTE. The Lawyers’ Committee was formed in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy to involve the private bar in providing legal services to address racial discrimination.
