VP Harris Visiting Greenville, Gov. McMaster in Clemson Today

Governor Henry McMaster will be joined by Clemson President Jim Clements, Clemson Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich, University of South Carolina Senior Deputy Athletics Director Chance Miller, members of the General Assembly, and other state leaders for a ceremonial bill signing of S. 685, Compensation of Intercollegiate Athletes this afternoon at Clemson’s Nieri Family Student-Athlete Enrichment Center.

The Governor is in Clemson today, while Biden’s second in command, VP Kamala Harris, is in Greenville visiting a COVID vaccination mobilization event at the Phillis Wheatley Community Center and is touring a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination site at the YMCA of Greenville. Following that COVID event, Harris will participate in a conversation on voting rights with community leaders, and officials say this meeting is closed to the press.

Governor McMaster said in a statement that, “We are always happy to welcome visitors, but I believe the Vice President’s valuable time would be better spent at the border trying to fix the mess created by the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies.”
