WALHALLA CHOIR TO PERFORM AT CARNEGIE HALL

The Walhalla High choir, directed by Erin Phillips, has accepted an invitation to take part in the performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana this spring in New York City. The performance is scheduled April 19 for the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. The 13-student choir is to be part of a performance of German composer Orff’s Carmina Burana. The Carmina Burana includes poems and texts that date as far back as the 11th or 12th centuries. While in New York, choir director Phillips and her choir members will be able to sightsee at the 9-11 Memorial, the Empire State building, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Central Park.
