Walhalla City Council Meets at New Location to Discuss Key City Projects

The Walhalla City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. tonight at a new location, the Walhalla Depot at 211 S. College Street. The agenda includes a proclamation recognizing March as Women’s History Month, adoption of the Oconee Hazard Mitigation Plan, and final readings of ordinances to fund a new police station and finance a trackhoe purchase. Council will also consider first readings on annexation requirements and zoning changes for drive-through businesses. Additional topics include awarding contracts for water and sewer improvements, a virtual attendance policy, and a municipal volunteer program. An executive session is scheduled, followed by mayoral comments prior to adjournment. The meeting is open to the public.
