Walhalla City Council Offers Police Chief Position to Aaron Alexander

Aaron Alexander, a Uniform Patrol Lieutenant with more than 16 years of experience at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, has received a formal offer to become the next Chief of Police for the City of Walhalla.

The offer followed a nearly three-hour special-called city council meeting on Tuesday afternoon that included a closed executive session, during which Alexander was one of two candidates interviewed. Council approved the offer with no opposition, though Councilman Holliday arrived late and did not participate in the interviews. Alexander’s resume highlights his priority to “develop strong officers, build public trust, and ensure the department delivers consistent, high-quality service.”
