Walhalla: City Hall Closed Today; Boil Water Advisory In Effect; Executive Session for City Council Tonight

City of Walhalla Water Department experienced a loss of system pressure due to a major water main break, and advises residents to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Also, any ice made from water, which has not been boiled, should not be used for drinking purposes. This advisory applies to all customers within the City of Walhalla Water Department service area. Water samples will be taken, and tested. Residents should continue to follow the recommendations until notified by the City of Walhalla of when the advisory is lifted. Tonight, the Walhalla City Council will meet in executive session after their regular meeting at City Hall. Behind closed doors, the council will discuss an economic development project and receive legal advice on intergovernmental agreement. The regular meeting starts at 6:00pm and is open to the public.
