Walhalla Man arrested on Multiple Charges

Sister station WGOG reports that the discovery of a woman in disheveled condition north of Walhalla has led to charges of kidnapping and assault and battery in the first degree against a Walhalla man. A deputy with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department helped arrange medical treatment for the victim, who told the officer she had been beaten and held at an address for 24 hours. At one point, she said, she had lost consciousness. The woman was discovered on Tuesday at S.C. 28 and Zion Road, not long after a 911 call. The deputy reported he later located 28-year old Ralph Jake Goss Jr. and employed his tazer to stop Goss from fleeing. Besides kidnapping and assault charges, authorities say Goss faces larceny, driving under suspension, and four Family Court bench warrants.  He was booked on the charges at the Oconee County Detention Center in Walhalla.
