Walhalla Police Department Arrests Waynesville, NC Woman On Unlawful Neglect Of A Child Charges

(Seneca, SC)——————–The Walhalla Police Department arrested a Waynesville, NC woman recently on a charge of Unlawful Neglect of a Child. 

33 year old Jennifer Leigh Uhl was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center last Thursday. 

Back on January 15th of this year, officers were dispatched to an address in regards to assisting paramedics in regards to a juvenile who reported his father was unconscious in a room of the home. Uhl was inside the same room with the unconscious subject. 

Entry was made into the room and contact was made with the unconscious subject and after discovered the individual was not breathing, Narcan was administered to the subject, according to Walhalla Police Chief Sean Brinson. According to Chief Brinson, while officers were on the scene, Uhl fell several times and was very unsteady on her feet. 

The Department of Social Services was contacted and the juvenile was placed in a safe environment. Drug tests administered to both the juvenile and Uhl showed levels of narcotics in both individuals. 

Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained against Uhl. According to the arrest warrant, Uhl was under the influence of narcotics, including Heroin and Benzodiazepines.
