WALHALLA TO BREAK GROUND JANUARY 28

January 9, 2019 Dick Mangrum
Monday, January 28 will be a red-letter day for Walhalla. The city will break ground for its new water treatment plant near Lake Keowee. Everyone is invited for the ceremony to take place at noon at the Old Walhalla Highway and Melton Road. At the request of Mayor Danny Edwards, former mayors and council members who had a part in the many years of planning the project will receive invitations. Thru an intake from Keowee, the new plant will treat the raw water and convert it into the city’s new drinking water supply. The city’s existing plant draws water from Coneross Creek near 183/the Walhalla-Westminster Highway.
