Walhalla Volunteers Distribute 500 Free Trees in Chilly Morning Giveaway

Despite early morning cold temperatures on February 7, 2026, six dedicated volunteers in Walhalla, South Carolina, unloaded and handed out 500 free trees to community members. The annual event featured a variety of species, including pecan, oak, red maple, paw paw, and black gum, helping make the city greener. The giveaway was organized by TreesUpstate, funded by Duke Energy, and supported by the City of Walhalla.
