Walhalla’s Former Police Chief indicted for Misconduct in Office

The former Walhalla Police Chief has been indicted on three misdemeanor counts of misconduct in office. On Tuesday, Ronald Wilbanks resigned and on Thursday a grand jury returned the indictments following a SLED investigation. If convicted, Wilbanks could face up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $1,000 per count. Captain Paul Harris has been named the interim police chief for the City of Walhalla, while the search for a permanent replacement is underway.
