Website and Video launched for Th!nk Oconee

A new website and video have been launched for Th!nk Oconee, which is a branch of the Destination Oconee plan, encouraging people to shop and buy locally, explains Destination Oconee Manager and Oconee Economic Alliance Interim Executive Director Janet Hartman. “Th!nk Oconee started as a buy local campaign in October 2016, encouraging Oconee County citizens to spend their hard earned dollars locally. Since its inception, Th!nk Oconee has transformed into a “celebrate everything that makes Oconee County special” campaign. This challenges everyone to Th!nk Oconee in every decision they make; whether that’s where you shop, where you donate, or where you tell your friends to travel for a weekend getaway. Th!nk Oconee is about conscious decision making that is in support of Oconee County. As the Th!nk Oconee campaign has grown and flourished into the unwritten motto of Oconee County, it has spread its wings beyond local spending. In 2017, Th!nk Oconee adopted its G!ve Oconee initiative, which highlights an Oconee County non-profit, raising awareness of local charities that impact our immediate communities. The campaign also created the Great Oconee Clean Up, which rallied volunteers together to impact the beautification of our area. Th!nk Oconee has become a way of life and an outcry to Oconee County citizens to have pride in their community, giving to it, so it can give back to them. The next step in the Th!nk Oconee phase of life only seemed natural. It was time to create a landing space for Th!nk Oconee in the form of www.ThinkOconee.com. This new website is a place to connect with local business partners, keep up with community activities, find out how to get your hands on Th!nk Oconee merchandise, find your next Oconee County adventure, and so much more. Follow along by visiting www.ThinkOconee.com and our social media accounts as we grow in our new space and continue to create arenas to celebrate Oconee County. The real prize in this website launch is a two minute video that shows some of what Oconee County has to offer from childhood to adulthood. The video features locally owned businesses, existing industry, culture, outdoor life, cuisine, and so much more. The idea was to show that in every stage of life, in all that you look for, whether it be home, growth, or adventure it’s easy to Th!nk Oconee. Our challenge to everyone, everywhere, is, when you think about the possibilities of life…Th!nk Oconee.” Visit www.ThinkOconee.com to watch the video and for more information on #Th!nkOconee initiatives.
