West-Oak Names Daniel Spencer New Head’s Women’s Basketball Coach

(Seneca, SC)————————The West-Oak Warriors have a new women’s basketball coach and it is someone with Oconee County ties. Coach Daniel Spencer was introduced to the returning varsity and JV women’s basketball players at West-Oak today. Coach Spencer is the former men’s and women’s JV Head Coach at Seneca High School and is a former Assistant Coach with the Seneca women’s Varsity Team under former Head Coach Jimmy Towe.  During that time, the Seneca women made two trips to the Upper State Championship game. This year, Spencer served as an assistant under Coach Towe, this time at Woodmont High in Greenville County, where the women’s team there went 26-2 and won their region championship.

Coach Spencer says that coming out of the interview, he said that he could tell the excitement from the administration and he shared that with his wife.

The Middle School program went 18-0 and there is experience coming back as juniors plus the younger players, according to Coach Spencer. West-Oak lost three seniors from the varsity team, including an all-conference player in Treasure Lone but Coach Spencer says that provides opportunities for other to step up and become leaders and that part is exciting, according to Coach Spencer.
