West Union Town Council Approves Sale of Main Street Property for Duplex Development
The West Union Town Council voted Monday to sell a 1.23-acre town-owned parcel at 1210 West Main Street to contractor James M. Andrews of JMA Designs, LLC, for $62,500 in cash. After reviewing the offer’s terms and contingencies, the council approved the sale with two small contract adjustments. Andrews intends to build duplex housing on the level site, which sits in an area without zoning restrictions. The transaction allows the private buyer to take ownership of the previously town-maintained property, potentially increasing local residential options. No opposition was reported, and the property had been valued around $70,000 in prior listings.
