Westminster City Council to Discuss Utilities, Staffing, and Policies

Westminster City Council will meet today to address utility matters, staffing changes, and city policies. Council will vote on appointing Kiley Carter as city clerk and treasurer, succeeding Rebecca Overton, who will be honored for over 25 years of service. Other votes include a resolution designating February as Black History Month, a pledge to promote civility, and amendments to the flood damage prevention ordinance. Utility discussions include selling excess electrical capacity, modifying returned check policies, and requiring timely water leak repairs. Council will also review bids for a combined utility rate study and end with an executive session on contractual matters. A budget workshop precedes the meeting at 4 p.m., with the regular session at 6 p.m. at Westminster Fire Department.
