Westminster collecting Water for Hurricane Florence Victims

Hurricane Florence poses a significant threat to South Carolina, so to assist in the expected recovery, the City of Westminster is collecting water, tells Mayor Brian Ramey. “Due to the fact in the weather reports it doesn’t look like we are going to be affected really in any way up here we wanted to try to help in any way we can. I’ve been on some of these disaster relief efforts myself and I know first hand that drinking water is the primary need. So, we are going to start tonight at the council meeting and we are asking anyone who comes to the meeting to bring a case of water and the Westminster Fire Department will be collecting water for the next few days until we find out exactly where it is needed the most. We will be sending it down either with our rescue teams, the disaster relief teams from the Baptist Association or we will be sending it to the areas that we find out who needs it the most. People can drop off sealed water at the Westminster Fire Department and we will take care of it and make sure it gets where it is most needed.” The Westminster Fire Department is located at 100 East Windsor Street.
