Westminster Could Save $1M on Water Line Replacements

Consultant for the City of Westminster Troy Rosier presented a plan to the city council at a special meeting this week, and said he’s confident that one million dollars can be trimmed from the cost estimate for replacing old water lines for rural customers in the vicinity of Toccoa Highway and Long Creek Highway, by increasing the capacity of an existing water tank from 40 thousand gallons to 100 thousand gallons…

USDA Representative Debi Green expressed optimism that the government agency could help the city with a low interest, long term loan in combination with federal grants to meet the projected multi-million dollar effort…

By knocking one million off the price tag, Rosier estimated that the total cost will drop to $6.8 million. It’s an investment that Mayor Brian Ramey says is long overdue and an obligation they have to the city…

Ramey concluded the discussions with the pronouncement to consultant Rosier and the USDA’s Green, saying, “We will be in touch.”
